Geek Parents has relaunched!

The few of you who follow the geek parents twitter feed may already know that James handed over the reigns of geek parents to me at the end of last year. As any of you who are parents already know, we rarely have the precious spare time to do frivolous things like regularly update a blog never mind trying to launch and run an online community.

With two children of my own – a toddler and a new born – my aim is to start things off with less ambition than James and to simply run geek parents as a blog, although still staying true to the original idea behind the site. In the coming months I plan to regularly update with content which I hope will be relevant and useful to you as parents. News, thoughts, ideas and interesting finds from around the net to help and inspire your parenting, no doubt with a geeky perspective.

With the objective of manageable simplicity in mind, I’ve launched with a basic template (and a selection of must-have plugins for functionality and usability) rather than going for a custom design. I intend to redesign the template at some point in the future once the initial launch hurdle is behind me.

If you are following the twitter feed I understand if you decide to unfollow it as it’s now under new ownership. My plans for the twitter account include updating followers on new posts on the blog, linking directly to other things of interest that don’t necessarily merit a full blog post here as well as being the main point of contact if you want to discuss the blog, parenting or general geekiness.

If you do read the blog or follow the twitter account then I hope you enjoy what you find and let me know your opinions. If you come across anything you think I might find interesting, have ideas for the blog or would like to contribute with a guest post then let me know.
