LEGO Mars Curiosity Rover Available Now

In what seems like no time at all since it was green-lit on CUUSOO, the LEGO Mars Science Labs Curiosity Rover is now available from the LEGO shop.

The model was designed by Stephen Pakbaz, one if the NASA engineers who worked on the real rover. Submitted to CUUSOO, LEGO’s kickstarter-esq community for LEGO models, it received a huge influx of support thanks in part to the successful landing mission and subsequent exploration of the surface of Mars conducted by the real Curiosity Rover. It also looks like a great kit, with functional six-wheel suspension that mimics Curiosity’s ability to keep all six wheels on the ground in virtually any terrain.

It’s a shame that this wasn’t out in time for Christmas but at a very reasonable £25, most geeks wont be holding of until next Christmas to get their hands in this LEGO set.
